Story by: Magne Lunde - 18.08.2008
Per Starheim founded NOVA datasystems in 1984. During the early years he worked mainly with banking, insurance and travel systems. Later work focused on results systems for Sporting events, both for the disabled and "ordinary" events. Examples of large sports systems Per has been responsible for are the Norwegian "Birkebein" cycle race, the National Cross Country and Alpine Skiing Championships and the World Cup in Short track.
The most exciting work for Per has been the results systems for Winter Sports for the disabled: the World Cup in Baiersbronn in 2003, and in Fort Kent (Maine) in 2005, also the Alpine World Cup in Wilschonau in 2004, and the World Cup in Vancouver in 2007. NOVA datasystems had responsibility for the results system in Lillehammer in 1994, Nagano in 1998, and Salt Lake City in 2002 with MediaLT
MediaLT now has the rights to the results system and is considering further development of the system.
Per is now leading a project to create a processing system for the Norwegian Patient Support organisation under the management of MediaLT. He has a part time position as a Senior Consultant
