Sample film clips were chosen at the workshop. These will be analyzed further to investigate what can be done during production process to reduce the need for audio description afterwards.

On Tuesday 26th May it was time to hold the workshop which would assess various clips and scenes from the movie Best Friends, to find suitable clips for further testing in the project.
Roy Fenstad from Norwegian film studio had in dialog with Filmbin, the company behind Best Friends, obtained a DVD with clips from the film, which is still under production. The available clips were reviewed and all had some elements of interest for further work in the project.
We would like to thank Filmbin for making this material available so quickly.
Best Friends is about three good friends at school, playing in the snow and looking forward to July. One day one of the friends disappears, and the others try to find her by using notes written in invisible ink.
Best Friends is a children's film about friendship and courage. The principal actors are Ane Dahl Torp, Anders Baasmo Christiansen and Jon Øigarden and the director is Christian Lo.
The film is scheduled for premiere in late October.
The sound in the clips is now being processed by Norwegian film studio in collaboration with MediaLT. The goal is to produce several different sound versions, that will be evaluated by a test group. The evaluation will give an indication of what works well, or less well as the case may be, and point the way ahead. By adapting the sound in this way, the result should reduce the need for audio description afterwards, but at the same time include audio description which enhances the film.
