The smartphone is becoming an increasingly important learning tool in education and professional life as well as an essential communication tool, also in daily living. Many users learn smartphone technology without training and assistance, but for others the smartphone has become a new technological barrier. The SmartJa Norwegian website is an initiative to offer assistance to people facing perceived barriers to mobile technology, people with disabilities and those who are not confident with new technology. The website aims to make it easier for them to get started, explaining the basics, providing simple procedures and information about assistive technology and useful apps.
