MediaLT is running the results system at this year's World Cup!

MediaLT has an agreement with the IPC (International Paralympics Committee) to run the results system for all the races at this year's World Cup for Nordic Sports. The first sequence of events took place in week 51 at Sjusjøen with two days cross-country skiing and two days Biathlon. The next happening is in Bessans, France and the last in Oberried, Germany.

The results system was developed for the Paralympics in Salt Lake in 2002. It includes alpine skiing, cross country skiing and biathlon. The system has also been used in other major events, such as the World Cup in Nordic skiing in Baiersbronn, Germany in 2003, the World Cup in Alpine skiing in Wildschönau in 2004, and the World Cup in Nordic skiing in Fort Kent, Maine, USA in 2005. In addition to a number of World Cup races.

The same results system gives the races status in the World Cup and not just as individual, independent races.

This is the background for the contract between MediaLT and IPC. If this project is successful and both contractors are happy, the contract for this season will be extended.

The events after Sjusjøen will run in late January and early February. Bessans in France is the French biathletes "home", located in the Alps on the border with Italy not far from the Val d'Isere.

Oberried is in Schwartzwald in Germany, a little south of Baiersbronn where the World Cup in Nordic sports for the disabled was held in 1993 and 2003. Maybe they will host 2013 as well? Together with MediaLT? We will publish the results as they appear. They  can be found on the English pages under services and World Cup. Here are the results and history.
