Audio Subtitling

In some countries television programmes are adapted for visually impaired viewers, for example texting is accessible through synthetic speech. The Audio Subtitling project was started at the beginning of 2006 to provide a similar service for television in Norway. A further development of the project will be pilot programmes with audio description of significant visual events. The project is to run for three years and is funded by the Norwegian foundation for Health and Rehabilitation.
Testing of audio subtitling, is planned to start in March 2007.
